What are Dental Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain coverings that are placed over your teeth to achieve a beautiful smile. It is the ultimate cosmetic treatment for a smile makeover. They can be used to correct crowding, discoloration, gaps or spacing, and chipped or broken teeth. Porcelain veneers usually require a minimum of two visits for treatment. There are many factors that define truly beautiful porcelain veneers.
Ideal for patients whose smiles may need more comprehensive veneer therapy to correct severe discoloration or mild misalignment, these traditional veneers use thin shells of porcelain that are placed over teeth to conceal damage or discoloration. As your natural teeth are prepared before the porcelain shells are placed, veneers can also be used to correct minor overlapping as well.

Our Veneer Process
The process for you to receive your veneers is simple. First, we'll determine whether we need to remove any tooth enamel. A true porcelain veneer should only cover the front surface of the tooth and require an extremely small amount of tooth structure removal, or in many cases, none at all. At Manoa Dental we aim to conserve as much of your tooth structure as possible because our ultimate goal is for our veneers to last a very long time.
Second, the skills of the ceramist or lab that will create that veneer are exceptional. We choose only the best of the best. You can view how your veneers will be made by our skilled ceramist who won numerous awards and lectures throughout the world (ask us about our ceramist credentials).
Third, our cosmetic dentist has the skills to deliver stunning results that mimic nature and reflect your facial shape, personality, gender, and style. Many minute details are also calculated, such as the amount of light, translucency, and different colors. You should be able to achieve the look that you want. A smile makeover is a team collaboration between a highly trained cosmetic dentist, a skilled ceramist, and the patient. When done correctly, your veneers should feel very natural and look amazing.
